Finishing the Task Ministries Mission Statement

About Us

Finishing the Task Ministries is a non-denominational Christian ministry located in north Waller County, Texas and is led by brother Jason Weaver. Our beliefs are based on the Bible and centered on Jesus Christ. Our mission is very simple: to lead people into an authentic relationship with Christ Jesus and to honor and glorify Him with our lives. This means we are not about a building or some complicated religious system, but about helping people from all backgrounds discover the joy that comes from knowing and serving Christ Jesus.

We ascribe to the mission and purposes of the New Testament Apostolic Church. The mission of the early church was five-fold: worshipping God, walking in the Spirit, carrying out work of the ministry, warning the flock, and witnessing to the lost.

Worshipping God: Jesus taught, “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24). Thus, we endeavor to worship God by the power of His Holy Spirit and in accordance with His holy truth found throughout the pages of Scripture.

Walking in the Spirit: In keeping with the New Testament teaching, our ministry exists to encourage believers to “walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,” (Ephesians 4:1b). We, therefore, exist to encourage individuals and families to live holy lives, which are pleasing to God; “walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16b). Like the Apostle Paul, “we proclaim Him (Jesus), admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ.” (Colossians 1:28)

Work of the Ministry: We take seriously the New Testament admonition “for the equipping of the Saints for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ;” (Ephesians 4:12). We, therefore, earnestly teach God’s word in an in-depth manner with the goal of equipping each believer for the work of the ministry. We understand the body of Christ to be a spiritual organism in which each member ministers to one another.

Warning the Flock: We have a serious responsibility before God to warn believers against false doctrines, destructive philosophies and deceptive ideologies. Nearly every New Testament epistle was written to correct one false teaching or another (2 Timothy 3:16-17). God holds leaders responsible for the souls of those under their care, and leaders will, therefore, give an account to God on the day of judgement (Ezekiel 33:1-9; Acts 20:20-21, 26-27; Hebrews 13:17; James 3:1; and 2 Timothy 4:1-5).

Witnessing to the Lost: We take seriously Christ Jesus’ great commission to share salvation with the lost, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20). We believe every member is a minister, as the Lord has given all of “us the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18b), and desires to use each of us as “fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19b) to reconcile the lost to God through the saving gospel of Christ Jesus.
